About Me

Hi, I'm Dasha, I'm a 22 years old artist, creator and thinker living in Munich, Germany.

And this is my story...

I can't remember when I started drawing. Not because my memory is bad, but because I did it since I could think.

First I drew princesses and fairies. Then my dad thought me how to draw faces, shapes & landscapes. Sometimes I remember us sitting in the living room and painting an art study of monet.

My parents are creative people as well, but they didn't allow themselves to pursue this path, so they encouraged me and I'm forever grateful for it.

I was drawing everyday and didn't notice the time passing.

I started an Instagram account for my art when I was just 11 years old. I've built a small, but very supportive community. It was so much fun. I even made commisions (but somehow refused the money).

The turning point came when I became a teenager. I felt different and "weird" for being the artsy girl. Moreover, I was very shy and insecure which made me want to fit in and be "cool" as well. Our teachers always talked about finding a job and slowly but surely I thought that my art was not sustainable. I stopped posting and drawing & a huge part of me went missing.

In the last years of school I got into self development & psychology to "heal" my anxiety which got really bad at that time. It worked. I felt better and after school I immediately started posting on social media again to help other people who had the same struggles. I wasn't getting any views for about a year but I continued.

I got 20k subscribers on my YouTube channel and 24k on TikTok but the algorithm started showing my videos to an audience I didn't intend to reach.

I stopped and gave it a new shot on an english Instagram account and got over 15k followers in just a few months sharing my passion for female self development, psychology, symbolism, energy and reality creation.

I love this topic but I felt like something was still missing. The artist in me.

I still didn't allow myself to pursue art because somewhere deep down I believed that art wasn't sustainable, nobody would want my art, I needed to create something "useful" or nobody would "buy".

But I couldn't accept this reality and then an idea hit me:

I wanted to combine my knowledge on symbolism, psychology with my passion for art.

That's how Symbols & Thoughts was born.

A physical mail club that empowers you every month through art & symbols.

I still worry about wether this will work out, but I don't want to look back when I'm older and regret that I never tried to pursue my true passion.

I'm so grateful you're here.

With lots of love,

Dasha
